All About Tiwa Savage and Her Songs
Tiwatope Savage, who is also known as Tiwa Savage which is her stage name, is a singer, recording artist, song writer, actress and performer. Tiwa Savage was born on February 5 in 1980 in Lagos, Nigeria. Her family moved from Nigeria to London when she was 11 years old. In her schooldays, she was a trombone player in the orchestra band of the school. After doing graduation from the University of Kent, she got a job in The Royal Bank of Scotland. For starting her music journey she first enrolled at the Berklee College of Music and then at the age of twenty seven she graduated from there with the degree in the professional music.
Start of her career
In the starting of her music career, she participated in the X Factor and she made up to the top 24 and she did all this when she was in the music school only. It was admitted by her only that she felt it very difficult to deal and handle the limelight and because of this very reason she was unable to proceed further on the show. During that period only her songs got popularity and she got noticed.
Her rise to fame
In the year 2009 Tiwa Savage was signed by the Sony for a music deal. She also hosted the second season of the Nigerian Idol and after this she made her first film and songs list debut with Ireti Doyle and Joke Silva. This film was basically the stage adaption of the For Coloured Girls. She was the first African artist who got the opportunity to be associated with the Pepsi brand. Tiwa Savage music talent is immense and because of her talent and dedication only she has gained such position in the music industry.
Tiwa Savage has been doing many humanitarian works for the welfare of the society and for helping the unprivileged. She got involved in many of the breast cancer and youth empowerment projects in the Nigeria itself. She also helped an organization in raising money for building school in her respective hometown in Nigeria.
In the very starting of her career she was not very sure about her aim and did not know what to expect from the Nigerian musical industry. She also received a lot of hostility and ridicule from the people of music industry who had this strong belief that she would not make anything in the music field and would ultimately fail. Many of the people suggested her not to settle in Nigeria as this decision of her will not be good for her career and that she will not be welcomed into the music industry as she was a female singer.
